Switching to a Digital Service

Your telecoms provider (e.g. BT, O2, Virgin Media) should contact you before the switch over to discuss what you need to do.

Telecare devices

If you use a telecare device connected to a phone line such as a fall monitor, lifeline or personal alarm, then please contact your provider now so that they can advise on how the switch might affect your services.

Emergency Calls

Digital landlines will not work in the event of a power cut. If you have a mobile phone this can still be used, but if you’ve no other means of calling the emergency services your telecoms provider will offer a solution to allow calls to be made to emergency services. Please contact your telecoms provider and let them know if you have no other way of making an emergency call.
